RASPBERRY PI PICO 2
Description
With a higher core clock speed, double the memory, more powerful Arm cores, optional RISC‑V cores, new security features, and upgraded interfacing capabilities, Raspberry Pi Pico 2 delivers a significant performance boost, while retaining compatibility with earlier members of the Raspberry Pi Pico series.
Programmable in C / C++ and Python, and with detailed documentation, Raspberry Pi Pico 2 is the ideal microcontroller board for enthusiasts and professional developers alike.
Raspberry Pi Pico 2 is powered by RP2350, our new high-performance, secure microcontroller. Every aspect of the design has been upgraded, from the CPU cores to our unique PIO interfacing subsystem. They've introduced a comprehensive security architecture, built around Arm TrustZone for Cortex-M. And new low-power states and package options expand the range of addressable applications.
The unique dual-core, dual-architecture capability of RP2350 allows users to choose between a pair of industry-standard Arm Cortex-M33 cores, and a pair of open-hardware Hazard3 cores, giving developers a chance to experiment with the RISC‑V architecture in a stable, well-supported environment.
The RP2350 security architecture, including the secure boot ROM, are extensively documented and available to all users without restriction: this transparent approach, which contrasts with the “security through obscurity” offered by legacy vendors, allows professional users to integrate RP2350, and Raspberry Pi Pico 2, into products with confidence.
Technical Specification
RP2350 is a high-performance, secure, low-cost, easy-to-use microcontroller from Raspberry Pi.
With a large on-chip memory, symmetric dual-core processor complex, deterministic bus fabric, and rich peripheral set augmented with our unique Programmable I/O (PIO) subsystem, it provides professional users with unrivalled power and flexibility. With detailed documentation, a polished MicroPython port, and a UF2 bootloader in ROM, it has the lowest possible barrier to entry for beginner and hobbyist users.
RP2350 is a stateless device, with support for cached execute-in-place from external QSPI memory. This design decision allows you to choose the appropriate density of non-volatile storage for your application, and to benefit from the low pricing of commodity flash parts.
RP2350 is manufactured on a modern 40nm process node, delivering high performance, low dynamic power consumption, and low leakage, with a variety of low-power modes to support extended-duration operation on battery power.
